Each 30-minute session blends mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation — a gentle yet powerful way to realign your system, elevate your mood, and begin each day in balance and flow.

This practice is inspired by the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine and the shamanic understanding that all life is energy in motion. Through Embodied Alchemy, you’ll learn to cultivate that energy consciously — transforming heaviness into vitality, stillness into flow, and intention into embodied strength.

What Is Embodied Alchemy?

Embodied Alchemy is a 30-minute, trauma-informed movement practice designed to transform tension, stagnation, and bracing into strength, flow, and embodied presence.

Led by master martial artist Nina Crist, this practice weaves together Qigong, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and aerobic self-defense to support nervous system regulation, emotional release, and resilient physical strength.

Each class begins with gentle Qigong and Tai Chi to warm the joints, hydrate the fascia, and smooth the flow of Chi throughout the body. From there, the practice builds into Kung Fu–inspired dynamic tension, strengthening muscles, connective tissue, and tendons while establishing clear, healthy energetic boundaries.

Classes then move into accessible self-defense combinations—strikes, blocks, and kicks practiced in rhythmic, non-aggressive sequences. These movements are not about fighting; they are about releasing stored survival energy, restoring agency in the body, and cultivating confidence, balance, and coordination.

Embodied Alchemy is especially supportive for those who have learned to brace or contract in response to stress or trauma. Through intentional movement, breath, and integration, the nervous system is guided from protection into organization, regulation, and restoration.

You will leave each class feeling:

  • Energized yet grounded

  • Strong yet fluid

  • Calm, clear, and embodied

Why Embodied Alchemy Works

Modern stress and unresolved experiences often live in the body as:

  • Chronic tension

  • Shallow breathing

  • Restricted movement

  • Emotional holding

Embodied Alchemy works directly with the body–nervous system–energy connection, helping to:

  • Release energy stagnation

  • Soften trauma-held contraction and bracing

  • Strengthen muscles, fascia, and tendons for injury prevention

  • Improve Chi flow and circulation

  • Support nervous system regulation and resilience

This is not a workout you push through.
It is a practice you inhabit.

Who This Series Is For

Embodied Alchemy is for you if you:

  • Carry stress, tension, or emotional holding in your body

  • Want to feel stronger without overstimulation or burnout

  • Are healing from trauma and want a body-based, empowering practice

  • Feel disconnected from your physical power or boundaries

  • Want a short, effective morning practice that sets the tone for your day

  • Are drawn to martial arts, energy practices, or conscious movement

No prior martial arts experience is required.
All movements are taught accessibly and can be adapted to your body.

Nina's Love and Life-Long Devotion to Tai Chi

About Nina Crist

Since age 17, I have lived, breathed, studied, and taught the martial arts, learning the essence of each style: Karate, Aikido, Jiu-Jitsu, Tai Chi, Chi Gung, Kung Fu, and more. I am a black belt with the title of Master and as a keeper of this ancient wisdom, I am honored to share the beautiful practices with all who are drawn to them.

My teaching is inspired from my decades of traditional training in the martial arts and my intention is to make these ancient practices accessible to all. It is my life’s work to peel back the layers of dogma and fear that surround this ancient wisdom so that people from all walks and all stages of life can benefit.
