Before we gather in Greece, your child will be introduced to:

 Democracy: The Voice of the People

Democracy was born in ancient Athens over 2,500 years ago. It was the first time in history that citizens were given a voice in how they were governed. Although only free male citizens were eligible to participate, the foundational ideas of equality, civic duty, and the power of collective decision-making laid the groundwork for modern democratic systems. During our retreat, we’ll walk the Agora where debates once shaped history and hold our democratic forum.

Medicine: Healing from the Wisdom of Asclepius

The roots of Western medicine can be traced back to Greece, where healing was both a science and a sacred art. Hippocrates, often referred to as the father of medicine, emphasized the importance of observation, diet, and balance. Meanwhile, the temples of Asclepius served as sanctuaries where dream incubation and rituals were used for deep healing. Participants will explore ancient healing practices and learn how holistic wisdom continues to influence modern medicine.

The Olympian Gods

Meet the 12 powerful deities of Mount Olympus, each representing unique aspects of human nature and the cosmos. Through storytelling, art, and ritual, we’ll discover how their myths still live in us today.

Day 1 - March 7, 2025 
Arrival and Orientation

A shuttle will be waiting for you at the international airport of Athens. (ATH) You will have a 2-hour drive to the Peloponnese, where you will stay at the boutique hotel Mouria, located right on the water. After you settle into your room, we will gather for an early dinner and the Orientation.

Day 2 - March 8, 2025 
Get to know the Area

Our first full day will be dedicated to exploring the surrounding area and getting to know the terrain, the people, and the culture of the Peloponnese

Day trip to Epidavros

Epidavros is the location of the first hospital and retreat center of the Western world. It is here that Hippocrates created the Hippocratic oath and taught the ways of healing. We will visit the extensive archaeological site and explore the surrounding villages!

Day 4 - March 10, 2025 
The Island of Hydra

Hydra is a car-free Greek island known for its preserved neoclassical architecture and vibrant arts scene. Stone mansions climb the hills above the harbor, once home to sailors, rebels, and poets. Time slows down here, where donkeys are taxis and the sea is always within reach.
